The book series might be over, but the magic remains! In the Harry Potter Lover themed auction box you get an assortment of Harry Potter goodies. No box would be complete without books, so there’s a copy of Harry: a History autographed by the author herself (and containing an exclusive interview with J.K. Rowling), Tales of Beedle the Bard, and one of the Harry Potter books on cassette tape. There are also some fun items like a Scene It Harry Potter game on DVD and a custom-made Harry Potter in the Hogwarts Library set containing more than 50 LEGO pieces. There is an unopened CD of “Goodbye, Privet Drive” by the Ministry of Magic (one of the top wizard rock groups). Which version is better: the book or the movie? With this box, you can find out for yourself!

You get five books and the movies based on them. The books range from thrillers to classics to young adult novels. You’ll also get some movie theater-type snacks. That’s enough to give you lots of escape entertainment- curl up with a good book or pop in a DVD after a hard day. Or suggest your friends/family/book club read one of the books and then host a discussion & movie night! Every box comes with a few BookCrossing goodies as well.

On May 23, BCinDC took a trip up to Baltimore to visit the Book Thing. We met members of the ABXC group there and we were tempted by thousands of free books. Afterward, the BookCrossers headed to Kosher Bite to chat and exchange books.

BookCrossers in attendance were: H2Omelons, JudyJoy, KateKintail, MaryZee, mdm139, melydia, PrettyPoodle, pritzkit, sherrisue76, SqueakyChu, and Tiatia.

BCinDC gave out more than 1100 books at the Gaithersburg Book Festival on May 15. It was an honor to be a part of this brand new festival and we look forward to it next year.
