Remembering Becky

On August 30, 2010, we tragically lost a member of our BookCrossing family, Becky Johns. Beloved daughter of Andy and Sandy and loving sister of Cindy, her story ended far too soon. We were blessed to have known her or known of her through ResQGeek.

ResQgeek hosts a release challenge every February in Becky’s honor. Check the BookCrossing Release Challenge forum for this year’s challenge.

2012 Challenge: The challenge will run the entire month of February 2012, but is especially focused on 14 February 2012. She loved cats and horses, soccer, skiing and bicycling, so books related to these topics would be appropriate to release, as would books that somehow relate to her favorite colors (pink or red), hearts, love, hugs or valentines (all of which represent her loving personality). Even if you can’t find books with any of these themed ideas, any children’s books would also be appropriate.

My thoughts are with Andy, Sandy and Cindy as they struggle to deal with such unbearable pain. We have a grand-daughter Rosalie of just that age so I can just picture what a huge loss Becky will be.
    Please accept my deepest sympathy.

My thoughts and prayers are with ResQGeek and his family at this sorrowful time. I read the messages from those who know and love them, and she sounds like such a special little girl, with a big heart and a happy smile. The loss must be unbearable. May God comfort you.

  • Margie (Inksmudge):

I am so, so sorry for your loss. Becky seems like a wonderful person, and I’m sure she will be missed. My heart goes out to you and your family, and my thoughts will be with you. Again, I’m terribly sorry, stay strong.
