BCinDC & the 2011 Convention

The Convention Funds meter shows our percentage of progress toward the obligation the 2011 BookCrossing Convention Planning Team had regarding our convention venue. This is the amount we needed to raise to “break even,” so to speak and does not include any of the extra expenses such as supplies, name badges, or program printing. We only made it to 84.4% by the end of the convention and the organizers paid the difference out of their pockets. But we want to extend our gratitude to all of our amazingly generous Convention Sponsors who helped us out of serious debt. Thank you to everyone who registered for the convention, purchased extra Bally Bucks or apparel, participated in the hair dyeing fundraiser, or donated any amount.

We still have our PO Box and our PayPal donation button up and running, tied to our convention bank account and we welcome donations still, if you feel so inclined. NOTE: If you did not receive the shirt you ordered at the convention, due to the company sending us an incomplete order, the replacement shirts have finally arrived! We’re sending them out in batches starting on 5/13/11. We’ll contact you if we need a shipping address or we’ll give them to you when we see you in person (if you attend BCinDC meetups).

Magic Catch Dust:
KateKintail has a few bottles of magic catch dust left over that are looking for good homes. She would be happy to personalize the bottle if you wish and send you one for a donation of $5 or more. We can’t guarantee that they’ll increase your catch rate, but it can’t hurt to try. They make great gifts for BookCrossing summer (or winter holiday) gift-giving and are small enough to squeeze into any tiny extra space you might have on one of your bulging bookshelves. For a donation of $10 or more, she’ll include a special convention thank you note with a goodie or two inside. Donate:
